Kampong Speu (FN), Nov. 10 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet highly commended the advanced progress and capability of the Cambodian paratroopers, speaking at the celebration of the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Forces Command, held on Friday (Nov. 10) in Kampong Speu province.

Premier Hun Manet commended the achievements of the Special Forces Command over the past 28 years, emphasizing its pivotal role across various domains. The unit has notably contributed to safeguarding territorial integrity, executing disaster rescue operations, and undertaking crucial demining missions.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored the inseparable role played by Chap Pheakdey, the current Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense and former Commander of the Special Forces Command. Pheakdey's leadership spanning 28 years has been instrumental in the unit's remarkable development, marked by significant accomplishments and milestones.

Samdech Thipadei added taht challenges faced in determining a clear location for parachute jump training, citing frequent changes in the past. However, thanks to the unwavering support of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Command, key stakeholders, and unit leaders, a dedicated training school for parachuting and counter-terrorism skills has been established in the Oral region. This facility also focuses on developing special military skills, showcasing notable achievements in Takeo and various other domains.

Highlighting the collaborative effort, Samdech Thipadei acknowledged the crucial role played by friendly countries, allies, and donors in achieving this milestone. In expressing gratitude, Samdech took the opportunity to thank all contributors who have played a part in advancing the capabilities of the Cambodian Special Forces.
