Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 9 – Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni stated that the nation and the people of Cambodia will have a promising future filled with hope, unity under the constitution.

The king spoke during the 70th Anniversary of the National Independence Day on Thursday morning (Nov. 9) in Phnom Penh.

In his speech, king Norodom Sihanouk underlined that "through the celebration, we can conclude that our nation and the people of Cambodia will certainly have a bright future with high hopes under the roof of the kingdom’s Constitution that guarantees strong national unity."

King Norodom Sihamoni continued that under the triumphant flag of national unity and the peaceful banner of Buddhism, the national ancestors, founders of Cambodia's luxurious temples abound everywhere in the country, our priceless national heritage will be protected, and no enemy can compromise our territorial integrity.

In addition, the king stated that the celebration is now a meaningful national event that responds appropriately to the mission and sacrifice of the highest national conscience of the late king father. The late king father always admired the destiny of our nation and the people of Cambodia, who survived the disasters of war and achieved peace and rapid progress in all areas in accordance with the mechanism of great intelligent management.

The king praised Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet for setting out the Pentagon Strategy - Phase I and the right policy to follow the noble path and noble political legacy of Samdech Techo Hun Sen that bring peace, national unity, national prestige, international fame. We are now happy and reaping the positive benefits that come from the strength of building and defending the harmonious homeland of our compatriots.

On this occasion, the king also called on Cambodians from all walks of life to unite as one under the umbrella of the Constitution and state law to contribute to the protection and construction of the nation in all fields.
