Siem Reap (FN), Nov. 5 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet noted the value of the vision of the general commissioner of the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia (GGAC) in wanting to see Cambodian girls and young women living in morality, freedom, equality, dignity and pride in culture and identity.

Samdech Thipadei also announced his support for the right path of the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia (GGAC), which is in line with the Royal Government's policy to promote gender equality, women's values and youth capacity development, which are the pillars of the nation.

The premier spoke during the opening ceremony of the 7th Friend of Asia-Pacific WAGGGS General Assembly on Sunday morning (Nov. 5) in Siem Reap.

"I would like to note the core value of the vision of the general commissioner of the GGAC to see young Cambodian girls and women living in morality, freedom, equality, dignity and being proud of their culture and identity. I support the right path of the GGAC, which is in line with the Royal Government's Pentagonal Strategy in promoting gender equality, women's values and the development of youth capacity as pillars of the nation”, Samdech Thipadei underlined.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet believes that the governments of all countries also applaud and support the vision and values of the Women Scouts Association. As the head of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei called on the government and all stakeholders to support and join the GGAC's movement to make these noble missions a success.

Samdech Thipadei underscored that the world would be safer, more beautiful, and warmer if more women become leaders. With the oppressing factors including traditional factors, economic factors and lack of awareness, millions of women around the world are deprived of opportunities for self-development and participation in socio-economic activities to reach their full potential. He added that this is a tragic loss of human capital.
