Siem Reap (FN), Nov. 4 – Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni thanked and praised Samdech Vibol Panha Sok An under the wise leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and many other leaders who sacrificed their time, wisdom, spirit, and fulfilled responsibilities to make Angkor Archaeological Park famous in the world.
The king spoke at the inauguration ceremony of the Angkor Wat Western Causeway on Saturday morning (Nov.4) in Siem Reap.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank and praise the hard work of all stakeholders, in particular Samdech Vibol Panha Sok An under the wise leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and many other leaders who sacrificed their time, wisdom, spirit, and fulfill responsibilities to make Angkor Archaeological Park famous in the world," the king underscored.
King Sihamoni continued that "Cambodian late king father Norodom Sihanouk cared for the preservation of national cultural heritage, especially Angkor Wat, where he always brought guests who were the leaders of many countries such as the king, the head of state, and the president to visit the Angkor Wat temple during his tenure as president of the Supreme National Council of Cambodia (SNC). Then, the late king father continued to bring guests to visit our Angkor Wat temples."
Angkor Wat was inscribed on the World Heritage List on 14 December 1992.
