Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 2 – On 31 October 2023, Cambodian foreign minister Sok Chenda Sophea had a productive discussion with the Chinese ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian during the latter’s courtesy call on 31 October 2023 at the Ministry.

Both sides spoke highly of the perpetual growth of Cambodia-China relations and cooperation, benefiting the two peoples and countries, and agreed to effectively implement the consensus reached by the two countries’ top leadership, including (1) the launch of “Diamond Cooperation” and (2) the establishment of the “Industrial Development Corridor” and “Fish and Rice Corridor” as concurred by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Chinese president Xi Jinping in February 2023.

Both sides noted with satisfaction the fruitful meetings between Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Chinese leaders, particularly president Xi Jinping and premier Li Qiang, during the two visits of Samdech Thipadei to China. They also agreed to initiate various activities to celebrate the People-to-People Exchange Year in 2024 to further attract more Chinese tourists to Cambodia.
