Phnom Penh (FN), Oct.30 – AUPP High School-Foxcroft Academy (AUPPHS-FA) proudly announces the extraordinary achievements of their former graduates from the Class of 2023. The team of skilled individuals, comprising Sam Vatanak, Sreng Chhayly, and Te Senglong, has made the school proud by securing 1st place in the national round of the WRO Cambodia 2023 competition. This remarkable feat has allowed them to represent Cambodia at the highly anticipated 2023 World Robotics Olympiad international round in Panama, which will take place from 7-9 November 2023.
The trio's dedication, passion, and exceptional abilities in the field of robotics have been vital to their success, serving as an inspiration to students and enthusiasts alike. Their journey was not easy, but their previous achievements speak volumes about their hard work and determination. They participated in the WRO Cambodia competition last year and secured an impressive 3rd place in the national round, which allowed them to compete in Dortmund, Germany, on 17 November 2022. Building on this success, they have now triumphed once again by winning 1st place in the national round this year, paving their way to the international round.
The team has shown exceptional perseverance and dedication, proving they can gracefully overcome any hurdle and handle challenges. Their greatest challenge was designing, building, and programming a new robot with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in just one month. As they prepare to compete on a world stage, they are excited to showcase their abilities and connect with students from diverse global backgrounds. The event promises to provide an enriching experience, enabling them to learn from others, broaden their horizons, and test their skills against other countries.
The team has objectives that go beyond just winning recognition. They will discover new perspectives and gain invaluable experiences. Participating in the World Robotics Olympiad has allowed them to foster creativity, enhance problem-solving skills, refine their engineering expertise, and nurture effective teamwork. These skills will undoubtedly guide them in their future endeavors as they aspire to pursue engineering, mechatronics, and computer science careers.
