Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 26 – Foreign minister Sok Chenda Sophea received a courtesy call by Ping M. Kitnikone, during her newly appointed as ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Cambodia with residence in Bangkok on 25 October 2023.

During the call, foreign minister Sok Chenda Sophea and Ping M. Kitnikone expressed deep satisfaction with the long-standing relations and fruitful cooperation over the years, ranging from trade and investment, capacity building, tourism, to demining and peacekeeping operation.

Cambodian foreign minister warmly welcomed Canadian companies and encouraged Canadian side to increase investment in Cambodia in order to further enhance bilateral trade relations and emphasized the importance of convening the first Bilateral Consultations between the two Foreign Ministries in the near future.

Both sides also affirmed their readiness to work closely together to further strengthen cooperation for the two countries’ common interests within bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
