Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 24 – Cambodian prime minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his hope that the cooperation between Cambodia and Japan will increase in all areas, especially in tourism, investment and people-to-people communication.
The premier spoke during a courtesy call by former Japanese foreign minister Komura Masahiko on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 24) at the Peace Palace.
In the meeting, Masahiko thanked the premier for taking the time to allow him and the delegation to pay a courtesy call and congratulate the premier on the recent appointment. Mashiko highly praised the rapid and strong development of Cambodia under the wise leadership and wisdom of Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
In response, premier Hun Manet welcomed Mashiko's visit to Cambodia and welcomed the reunion as it has been five years since their last meeting in Japan during the premier’s visit to Japan.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-Japan diplomatic ties, Samdecht Thipadei Hun Manet took the opportunity to thank the Royal Government and the people of Japan for their continuous contribution and support for Cambodia in all circumstances, from the post-war period to the development as it is today.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also touched on the stability of Cambodia's foreign policy, especially in the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Japan, hoping that cooperation between the two countries will increase in all areas, especially in tourism, investment and people-to-people communication.
