Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet cited the Israeli governments’ affirmation that they have capability to ensure the safety of its citizens and foreigners on its territory.
The premier spoke in a special voice message on the situation of Cambodian students and citizens in Israel on Tuesday morning (Oct. 10).
Samdech Thipadei also expressed his deepest condolences to the family of Chan Oudom, a Cambodian student who was killed in the Israel-Hamas violence.
Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei announced that the safety of Cambodian students and citizens in Israel is the highest priority of the Royal Government.
As of this morning (Oct. 10), according to the authorities, 454 Cambodian citizens are staying in Israel, of which 323 people were evacuated to a safe zone. The Royal Government and authorities will continue to work closely with the Israeli authorities to evacuate the rest to a safe zone.
In addition, Samdech Thipadei urged all Cambodians in Israel to adhere to the guidelines of the host country to ensure their safety, remain calm and have faith in the Israeli Government's capacity.
Samdech Thipadei thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen, foreign minister, agriculture minister, education minister, officials of the National Security Agency, Embassy of Cambodia in Turkey and Egypt, and consular officers in Israel as well as other stakeholders who have taken care of Cambodian people in Israel.
