Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet expressed his condolences to the family of Chan Oudom, a Cambodian student who was killed in Israel-Hamas violence.
The premier spoke during the launching of the National Strategy on Informal Economic Development 2023-2028, held on Tuesday (Oct. 10) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.
"On behalf of the Royal Government and myself, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of one of our Cambodian students, Chan Oudom, who lost his life in the clashes between Israeli and Hamas forces, which began on 7 October," the premier underscored.
Samdech Thipadei paid close attention to every aspect, especially security, and ordered all officers to use all measures to coordinate with the Israeli authorities to ensure that all Cambodian citizens are evacuated to the safe zone.
Cambodian students and citizens in Israel are safe under the coordination of the Royal Government of Cambodia with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, and other relevant authorities.
According to the authorities, 454 Cambodian citizens are staying in Israel, of which 323 people were evacuated to a safe zone. The Royal Government and authorities will continue to work closely with the Israeli authorities to evacuate the rest to a safe zone.
