Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 7 – Cambodian foreign minister Sok Chenda Sophea engaged in a productive discussion with the Philippine ambassador to Cambodia Maria Amelita C. Aquino on 5 October 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The discussion focused on economic diplomacy and further advancement of cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, agriculture, defence and people-to-people linkages, among others.

The two sides also expressed willingness to boost tourism by exploring the possibility of connecting direct flights to other potential tourist destinations in Cambodia and the Philippines.

During the meeting, minister Sok Chenda Sophea thanked the Philippines for importing Cambodian rice.

On the occasion, both sides emphasized the importance of working closely to convene the 4th Meeting of the Cambodia-Philippines Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation at the earliest convenience.
