Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 6 – Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology Thor Chetha discussed works with Hungarian ambassador to Cambodia Tibor Baloghdi with residence in Hanoi, on 5 October 2023.

Both sides affirmed a commitment to further strengthen cooperation in the field of water resources.

On that occasion, the Hungarian ambassador appreciated past cooperation and commended the Cambodian head of the Royal Government, especially the leadership of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology for providing good and effective cooperation.

Both sides agreed to revise the Joint Expert Group as stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding for the new term, with an equal number of representatives (six from Hungary and six from Cambodia) to resolve issues and make joint decisions between the two parties.

Please be noted that in 2020, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Water Resources Management Cooperation with the Hungarian Ministry of Interior, which focuses on three areas of water resources: integrated water resource management, water and wastewater management, and water research, development and education.
