Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 29 – Deputy Military Attache Col. Sergei Shumilin said Russia has to continue its efforts in fulfilling the objectives of the special military operation as it is a security matter of a sovereign state.
His statement was made during a press briefing of the Russian Embassy in Cambodia on Russia’s foreign policy and recent developments around Ukraine, held on 28 September 2023 at the Embassy.
“Nowadays the prospects of peaceful settlement of the crisis in Ukraine are doomed due to the decision of the Zelensky regime and its Western mentors to ban by the Presidential decree, signed in October 2022, any negotiations with the Russian leadership. In line with Ukrainian law, such kinds of talks are illegal,” Sergei Shumilin added.
He continued, “there are many other Western states involved in the supply of arms. Such a supply only heightens the risks of the escalation of the conflict, as well as threatens the situation on the whole European continent in general. Weaponry provided by the US and its allies is already in Kiev’s wide use, so are the foreign mercenaries, intelligence is shared, Ukrainian militaries are trained.”
“Altogether, about 170 billion USD were allocated as assistance to the Zelensky regime. All this confirms that the West is waging a hybrid war against Russia using Ukrainian people as proxies. Its officials do not try to hide this fact too, stating that our country must be defeated on the battlefield. In such circumstances Russia has to continue its efforts in fulfilling the objectives of the special military operation,” Col. Sergei Shumilin underlined.
The Kiev regime continues to commit crimes against the inhabitants of the Russian regions and destroy residential buildings, schools, hospitals, kindergartens and other civilian infrastructure. A wide range of NATO weapons is used for this purpose, from heavy artillery to attack drones.
The Western pandering to the crimes of the Kiev Regime and the continuing supply of weapons to it are clear reasons for attaining all the goals and tasks of the special military operation.
