New York (FN), Sep. 24 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet once again stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia has prepared a budget of $100 million to maintain price stability of agricultural products.
The premier spoke during a meeting with Cambodians living in the US and Canada in New on September 23, 2023.
From now until the end of 2023, the government will also recruit 250 technical officers to provide agricultural services to all rural communes throughout the country to promote agricultural productivity and assist farmers' families in promoting their agricultural products, the premier added.
"Introduction of coordination mechanisms and financing programs aimed at boosting production, marketing and maintaining balance of key agricultural prices at a reasonable level through the introduction of specific budget packages, starting at $100 million, with the possibility to allocate more budgets if necessary to intervene in time to buy agricultural produces from farmers with the goal of maintaining price stability in each harvest season,” Samdech Thipadei underscored.
"We will also deploy technical officers to provide agricultural services to all rural communes throughout the country to promote agricultural productivity and assist farmers' families in promoting their agricultural products. From now until the end of the year, 250 people have to be recruited, and for next year, more people will be recruited," the premier added.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underscored that the Royal Government pays a lot of attention to the work in the agricultural sector, not only to find a market for them, but also to prepare some budgets to help maintain balance of key agricultural prices at a reasonable level and also deploy professional officers to assist them.
