Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 20 - Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet urged to continue to preserve Khmer culture left by Khmer ancestors. The premier spoke on Wednesday evening (Sep. 20) during the celebration of the inscription of Cambodia’s Koh Ker on UNESCO World Heritage List at the National Olympic Stadium.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei also praised the Ministry of Culture and relevant stakeholders for their efforts to make Koh Ker listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

"(Please) forever protect [Khmer culture] under the shadow of peace that citizens must jointly maintain and prevent any attempts to provoke war for the development of our country in the present and the future,” Samdech Thipadei underscored.

He also thanked and appreciated all citizens nationwide, monks, students, as well as political parties, civil society, who actively participated in the celebration across the country this morning. Educational, public and private institutions together made noises to celebrate the inscription of Koh Ker on UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also praised all the media for paying attention and widely disseminating national achievements with strong unity, compassion and preservation of culture, which is the national identity in the hearts of all Cambodians.

It should be noted that on 17 September 2023, the World Heritage Committee inscribed Koh Ker: Archeological Site of Ancient Lingapura or Chok Gargyar, on the UNESCO World Heritage List during its extended 45th session in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
