Phnom Penh (FN), Sep. 20 – Following the instruction of Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet, Cambodia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy issued a press release to lower the electricity prices for enterprises in industrial and agricultural sectors, according to the press release seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Sep. 20).
“In order to expand the productivity of factories and enterprises in industrial and agricultural sectors as well as job creation and income for the citizens, the Royal Government of Cambodia, under the wise leadership of Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet, allowed the Ministry of Mines and Energy to lower the electricity price for the consumption in the industrial and agricultural sectors,” said the press release.
“This policy includes the average electricity consumption users, consumers of electricity by time and power, and consumers with solar panels connected to the national grid who have consumed more than the monthly average of the last six months under the following conditions:
*10 per cent discount on the average monthly energy consumption from Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
* 20 per cent discount on the average monthly energy consumption from Monday to Saturday between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. and 24 hours on Sunday and public holidays in order to encourage the consumption for three months from October to December 2023 and can continue to use following a 30-day notice according to the actual possibility of EDC.
* Consumers of the industrial and agricultural electricity connected to medium and high voltage networks who feel they have the potential to increase consumption and wish to receive a preference shall request to their local electricity supplier.”
