Beijing (FN), Sep. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet and Chinese president Xi Jinping pledged to maintain unbreakable iron-clad relations and mutual support.
Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet paid a courtesy call and discussed works with Chinese president Xi Jinping on Friday (Sep. 15) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
During the meeting, president Xi Jinping extended a warm welcome and emphasized that Cambodia-China friendship is like a huge tree with deep and strong roots, and both nations have long reaped the benefits of it.
Taking this occasion, president Xi affirmed that China remains a good friend and will continue to assist Cambodia on the path of economic development. The current official visit of the prime minister will bring more success to the achievement of building Sino-Cambodia community with a common destiny in the new era.
Premier Hun Manet outlined the direction and areas of future cooperation between the two countries, such as energy, food security and investment. The premier also requested the Chinese side to continue to support Cambodia's guarantee of energy security and food security, and thanked for the import of rice and other agricultural products from Cambodia.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also thanked China for its past efforts to encourage Chinese investors to invest in Cambodia, particularly in key priority areas that benefit the Cambodian people.
Before concluding the meeting, the Chinese president reaffirmed to the prime minister that China will continue to support and cooperate with Cambodia in all fields, and China is committed to protecting justice for both nations from any negative attempts.
