Beijing (FN), Sep. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet urged Chinese investors to invest in Cambodia and briefed the Royal Government's legal aspects and protections for investors.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet spoke during his lunch with Cambodian-Chinese businessmen on Friday afternoon (Sep. 15) in Beijing, China.
Premier Hun Manet underscored that Cambodia has set 2023 as the year to start boosting its economy towards achieving the goal of being a high-income country by 2050.
Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei stated that in the spirit of the Royal Government led by Samdech himself, the Investment Law, which has encouraging, attractive and specific mechanisms, as well as the Public-Private Partnership Law, is an example of commitment. In addition, the Royal Government has identified improving the business environment, investment and the private sector as a priority.
In this sense, Samdech Thipadei believed that Cambodia will be an attractive and potential destination for the private sector.
At the same time, the Royal Government will strengthen the dialogue with the private sector by organizing regular forums between the Royal Government and the private sector, with Samdech directly presiding.
"The Royal Government of Cambodia will provide all kinds of support and coordination so that Chinese businessmen and investors can do business and invest in Cambodia fruitfully and prosperously,” Samdech Thipadei reassured Chinese investors.
