Beijing (FN), Sep. 15 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet desired to see the major Chinese energy company invest in clean energy in the kingdom in accordance with the policies and vision of the new mandate.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet received a courtesy call by the president of the Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group Han Xiaojun on 14 September 2023 in Beijing, China.

Han Xiaojun warmly welcomed and thanked Samdech Thipadei for spending his valuable time to meet with him. Moreover, he congratulated Samdech Thipadei on his recent appointment.

Taking this occasion, Han Xiaojun briefed Samdech Thipadei on the history, business operation, and investment of Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group, which was established in 2007 in Cambodia. Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group has many projects worth nearly USD 3 billion and received warm support and coordination from the government. The company has grown and achieved many proud achievements, especially in constructing power grids and power plants.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei indicated the stance of the new Royal Government to further support, cooperate, and coordinate with the company on every project that benefits the kingdom's socio-economic and is in line with the Royal Government policies.

In addition, premier Hun Manet advised relevant ministries and institutions to cooperate with the company to study and figure more potential projects to contribute to improving the stability and efficiency of Cambodia's energy supply, such as projects in the clean energy sector that are sustainable and affordable. Samdech Thipadei strongly hoped that the company will continue to invest and cooperate in the projects in which the company has expertise and excellence.

Lastly, Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed the desire of the Royal Government to welcome and support the business and investment of companies in Cambodia in line with the needs of the kingdom's socio-economics and policies.
