Kandal (FN), Sep. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet affirmed that for those holding the title of Neak Oknha and Oknha, they can be appointed as advisors or assistants to the ministry, but will not be granted political status.
The premier spoke on Friday morning (Sep. 1) during a meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Takhmau city, Kandal province.
Manet added, a similar principle has been issued by Samdech Techo Hun Sen in the past that the generals of the National Police and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces must not obtain additional titles as Neak Oknha and Oknha.
Obtaining dual roles has posed negative effects on emotion and leadership of the institution, Manet added. Therefore, he asked for the understanding of those who have additional roles as advisors or assistants.
