Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 29 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet said the ill-intended plan of the opposition group based in the US to insist the United Nations (UN) not to recognise the head of the Royal Government already failed.
The premier spoke during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Phnom Penh's Por Senchey district on Tuesday morning (Aug. 29).
"I would like to inform you that the purpose of the demonstration is for the UN not to recognise. It already failed. Fortunately, the UN already included my name to deliver the speech on the 22 September. I also plan to meet with the secretary general of the United Nations and other leaders," Manet underscored.
"Please do not do anything that will harm the supporters of the Royal Government because hundreds of thousands of people will attend. Additionally, do not do anything that leads to conflict between supporters and opponents. It is enough; do not quarrel or fight in the US. Please respect everyone's rights. You can protest and express your voice, but you must respect the rights of the people who travel from Canada to the US to meet with me," Manet added.
Major countries in the world have already recognised Hun Manet as the Cambodian prime minister as seen through many congratulatory letters.
