Kandal (FN), Aug. 3 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen underlined that his decision to step down as prime minister in the 7th mandate is to ensure Cambodia's long-term peace and development.
The premier spoke on Thursday morning (Aug. 3) in an inauguration ceremony of Ring Road No.3.
"My decision to step down is the for the sake of long-term peace and development,” said the premier. He also recalled his sacrifices for national liberation and unity, and the kingdom’s political and economic reforms.
Premier Hun Sen expressed his profound respect to Cambodian late king father Norodom Sihanouk for his abdication at that time and prepared his son as the successor of the throne eight years before his death.
