Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 3 – The Constitutional Council of Cambodia approved that the amendment to the election law is in accordance with the Constitution, according to a press release seen by Fresh News on Monday (Jul 3).

The draft law on the amendment of the election law was approved by the National Assembly on 19 June 2023 and the Senate on 29 June 2023.

The draft law is designed for individuals who wish to stand for election, which stated that they must go to vote before they could stand for election. In addition to setting conditions for individuals to stand for election, the draft law also stipulates fines and penalties for individuals who disrupt and obstruct the voting process.
