Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen ordered armed forces to shoot down unidentified drones flying into Cambodian’s Ratanakiri province.

The premier spoke in a voice message obtained by Fresh News on Tuesday (Jun 27).

The premier ordered defense minister Tea Banh, commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Vong Pisen, and commander of the premier’s personal bodyguard unit Hing Bun Heang to take down the unidentified drones.

Samdech also highlighted the recent terrorist attacks in Vietnamese territory about two weeks ago. He stated Cambodia has closely cooperated with Viet Nam in preventing the terrorist groups from fleeing into Cambodian territory.

"We received information about drones flying into Cambodia’s Ratanakiri province. We contacted the Vietnamese side, yet they confirmed that those drones are not theirs,” the premier underlined.

"We have to use our modern weapons to shoot down any [unidentified] drones that fly into Cambodian territory," the premier ordered.

In the voice message, Samdech also ordered Hing Bun Heang to deploy 500 military forces and 200 modern weapons to participate in the operation. The premier announced zero tolerance for anyone who violates the kingdom’s sovereignty.
