Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 19 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen underlined that international friends have commended the kingdom for its successful organization of the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
The premier spoke on Monday (June 19) at an inauguration of Bakheng Water Treatment Plant in Phnom Penh.
Premier Hun Sen said, "so far, no country has criticized Cambodia’s organization and instead, they praised Cambodia for the job well done. I would like share this national pride to all of you.”
Under the premier’s recommendation, Cambodia spent more than USD 7 million for accommodation, food, travel of all athletes and other necessary supplies. The premier believed that such offer can further promote integration of people-to-people relations, especially in sports.
Meanwhile, the premier also quoted "Khmer Can Do" slogan as it reflected solidarity and brotherhood during the Games.
On that occasion, Samdech hoped that in the future, ASEAN will be able to bid for the World Cup or the Olympic Games, and by then, the National Stadium in Cambodia can also welcome and contribute to the organization.
Samdech added that Cambodia will host the 5th Asian Youth Games in 2029 in 2029, and by then, the capacity of water supply and other things will be better.
