Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 14 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen will attend the commemoration of the 46th anniversary of the national liberation journey on 20 June 2023, speaking Wednesday morning (Jun 14) during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Phnom Penh.

"June 20, 2023 marks the 46th anniversary of the national liberation journey. I have to go to the Ministry of National Defense to meet the troops. This year, we cannot celebrate at the [Cambodia-Viet Nam] border. However, we will discuss with the troops the historical factors related to the political victory and the liberation as well as my role in the journey," the premier underscored.

June 20 is marked as a reminder of the role of premier Hun Sen and his four closest allies in requesting assistance from the Vietnamese government in 1977 to help oust Pol Pot’s regime.

Under the wise leadership of premier Hun Sen, Cambodia has experienced a complete peace and continuous development, which has significantly contributed to the improvement of the people's living standard.
