Kampong Chnang (FN), Jun. 8 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen stated that the Royal Government's efforts to attract investors to set up factories or enterprises in the provinces have provided enormous benefits for workers and employers.
The premier spoke on Thursday morning (June 8) during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Kampong Chnang province.
Premier Hun Sen reminded that in February 1999, he led the first forum between the Royal Government and the private sector. In this forum, he issued a recommendation to set up factories in the provinces. As of now, Kampong Chhnang has 173 factories with more than 50,000 workers.
"The vision that the Royal Government has set is clear and well implemented. The ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) has set a clear and effective policy,” the premier underlined.
Samdech continued that the construction of roads and expansion of electricity network within the provinces is also part of investment attraction.
On that occasion, Samdech added that the establishment of factories or enterprises in the provinces has helped reduce the pressure in Phnom Penh, making it convenient for workers and the general population as it helps generate jobs and promotes Cambodia's economic growth.
