Kandal (FN), Jun. 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen stated that the Chinese government has always respected Cambodia's decision on infrastructure development, speaking on Wednesday (June 7) at the groundbreaking ceremony for Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway.

Premier Hun Sen said, "China is a respectable lender. The Chinese friend respects Cambodia's request, and with such quality, we are able to work together efficiently."

The premier also pointed out that some countries refused to lend us money if we refused to follow their orders, unlike Chinese friend. Respect from the Chinese side not only shows respect for Cambodia's independence and sovereignty, but also for Cambodia's decisions, including decisions on development projects.

On that occasion, premier Hun Sen added that only Cambodia knows exactly what Cambodia needs and prioritizes because the national budget is limited and the kingdom has already set a debt ceiling.

Samdech continued, whenever Cambodia requested to make changes to the plan, which have already been submitted to the Chinese side, the Chinese side always agree and follow Cambodia’s request.
