Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 4 – On 3-9 June 2023, the Asian Vision Institute (AVI) is conducting a physical training programme on a cruise ship travelling along the Mekong River to scholars, researchers, policymakers, and governments officials from Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, allowing them to build networks and immerse themselves in Cambodian communities and culture. This cruise ship training programme is one of the activities under "Mekong-Lancang Peace Boat Project" supported by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2022, to enhance policy dialogue, capacity building and regional cooperation among youth in the Mekong Region, thereby promoting peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.
This cruise ship training programme was presided over by Sok Siphana, senior advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia, chairman of the board of directors of AVI and chairman of the National Secretariat of Cambodia (NSC) for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC), Sok Soken, secretary of state of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA.IC), vice chairman of the National Secretariat of Cambodia (NSC) for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation, and head of Project Management and Implementation Unit for the MLC, and Chang Jian, deputy chief of Mission of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
