Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 3 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen officially announced the opening of the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

The opening ceremony of the 12th ASEAN Para Games took place on Saturday evening (Jun 3) at Morodok Techo National Stadium.

The premier expressed his desire that in the future, ASEAN will be able to bid to host the Olympics or World Cup.

On that occasion, Samdech recalled Cambodia’s success in hosting the recent SEA Games and stated that this success reflects the ASEAN unity and the promotion of sports.

In addition, premier Hun Sen also called on citizens to promote Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and support PWDs athletes participating in the competition.
