Phnom Penh (FN), May 31 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen encouraged leaders of future generations to allocate budget for infrastructure development for the benefits of the general public for the sake of equitable national development.
The premier spoke at an inauguration of a bridge across the Tonle Sap and Russey Keo flyover, held on Wednesday morning (May 31) at OCIC, Phnom Penh.
"I urge you [future leaders] to properly allocate funds for infrastructure development as it is an equitable distribution of economic growth,” said the premier. “You must strictly adhere to this point when leading the country or writing development policy.”
Infrastructure serve the people in general regardless of their social status, the premier underlined.
On that occasion, Samdech recalled that few years ago, Cambodia’s budget for SEA Games was insufficient, and that the kingdom must postpone being SEA Games Host. However, in 2023, Cambodia has successfully organized the 32nd SEA Games and highly commended by the international community.
