Phnom Penh (FN), May 30 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that political mistakes in the past have wreaked havoc on Cambodia and destroyed the kingdom’s human resource.
The premier spoke during an inauguration ceremony of a new building of Preah Sihamoni Raja Buddhist University, held on Tuesday (May 30) in Phnom Penh.
"Their country does not have natural resources, but they are very prosperous. Our country made political mistakes in the past due to the March 18, 1970 coup. That was the beginning of destruction,” the premier underlined.
Samdech continued, without the coup, Cambodia would have been well-developed and prosperous.
On 18 March 1970, Cambodian prince Norodom Sihanouk was overthrown in a coup by military general Lon Nol.
