Phnom Penh (FN), May 4 – Lao president Thongloun Sisoulith praised the organization of the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia and hoped the kingdom win more medals from the competition.
Lao president Thongloun Sisoulith spoke at the bilateral meeting with Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, held on Thursday (May 4) at the Peace Palace.
According to the premier’s personal assistant Eang Sophalleth, the Lao president thanked premier Hun Sen for inviting him to participate in the opening ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. He was honored and satisfied with the kingdom’s excellent organization of the events. He expressed his confidence that Cambodia will be successful and win many gold medals.
Taking this occasion, Laos’ counterpart also thanked Samdech for the assistance during the difficult time in both health and economic sectors.
Lao president pointed out that Cambodia-Laos relations have reached the highest level, and he pledged to jointly elevate the relations to another level based on the existing agreements and seek more cooperation in terms of tourism, investment, security, as well as jointly addresses natural disasters.
For his part, Samdech thanked his Lao counterpart for accepting the invitation to attend the opening ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. Samdech also agreed to further consolidate the existing agreements and seek more cooperation.
Lastly, Samdech asked both Cambodia and Laos to jointly review the preparation of avoiding double taxation agreements in order to promote investments between the two nations.
