Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 20 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that he always cares about and protects the lives of the citizens as if they are his parents and children.

The premier spoke at an inauguration of the Maternity Building of the National Children Hospital, held on Thursday morning (Apr 20) at the hospital.

"As a leader, I am worried, but I do not care about what other people think. For me, I have a responsibility to protect the citizens as if they are my parents and my children," the premier underscored.

On that occasion, Samdech also reiterated the tireless efforts of the government in preventing the spread of COVID19, eliminating the mortality rate, and restoring the kingdom's socio-economic activities.

On 19 April 2023, due to the effective control on COVID19, Cambodia announced to lift COVID19 preventive measures such as mask obligation and compulsory rapid test.
