Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 19 – Sihanoukville Provincial Administration wishes to inform national and international journalists and the public that on the 8 March 2023, the United Kingdom-based BBC News published a 47-minute video titled "Pig Butchering Romance Scam", which depicted the victimized situations of four Chinese Nationals suffering from online scams under the picture of romance scam, and sufferings of confinement and forced tortures in order to perform online frauds at Huang Le compound at Sihanoukville.

"The video was also linked with certain allegations and graphics, which severely affected the honor and dignity of the Sihanoukville authority as well as the leadership of the Royal Government of Cambodia," according to the press release seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Apr 19).
