Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 31 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced that there will be no broadcasting charge for foreign media outlets for the 32nd SEA Games coverage.

This decision was made at the weekly plenary session, held on Friday morning (Mar 31) at the Peace Palace.

"Samdech ordered not to charge a fee from foreign TV for broadcasting the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia," Cambodian information minister Khieu Kanharith underscored.

In the past, SEA Games member countries reacted to the high cost of overseas broadcasting. The government spokesperson Phay Siphan said that the weekly plenary session under the chairmanship of Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen has decided to offer free of charge for entry as well as live broadcasting.

The SEA Games, held for the first time in Cambodia after 64 years of waiting, is a historical event and a source of national pride. The Royal Government of Cambodia considers the organization of this event as a diplomatic policy to enhance Cambodia's reputation.

On 30 March 2023, Samdech announced free entry to the 32nd SEA Games.
