Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 24 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen expressed his appreciation for the discovery of two new rice varieties, Champei Sar 70 and Kangrei, speaking at the closing of an annual meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, held on Friday (Mar. 24) at the ministry.

"I would like to commend the discovery of two new rice varieties, Champei Sar 70 and Kangrei,” the premier underlined.

On that occasion, Samdech also appreciated the achievements of the ongoing agricultural technical research associated with research and cultivation.

At the same time, the premier added that for this rice variety, it is a new achievement that Cambodia can produce and grow on its own.

Champei Sar 70 is the research result of Dr. Ouk Makara, former director of CARDI while Kangrei is that of Dr. Khun Leang Hak.
