Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 17 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen expressed his support for the return of cultural treasures to their motherland, who are the rightful owners, for the benefit of all humanity.
The premier spoke during a celebration of returned Khmer artifacts to the kingdom, held on Friday (Mar. 17) at the Peace Palace.
Samdech continued, the welcoming ceremony of returning gods was not only a wonderful moment for the Cambodian people, who are the rightful owners of the cultural treasures, but also reflected the importance of good cooperation between Cambodia and other countries, in particular the efforts of the international community in combating illicit trafficking of the cultural assets for the benefit of all humanity.
Cambodia, a war-torn country, has now rapidly integrated itself regionally and internationally and is also playing an active role with the international community to preserve the cultural heritage and civilization of mankind, the premier added.
