Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen instructed relevant authorities and institutions to prevent the production of substandard products and goods, particularly never let Cambodian people be used for drug testing.
The premier spoke at a closing annual meeting of Ministry of Health on Tuesday (Mar 7) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.
The premier also encouraged the Ministry of Health to raise awareness and promote nutrition education to avoid the impact of foods on people's health.
Samdech added, the food issue now needs to be addressed as it is related to production. If properly produced, the consumer will be safe and healthy.
"Some processing requires inspection before entering the market. In the past, we have also banned the use of a type of syrup that has killed people in many countries. In our country, before importing anything, we have to check for its safety and do not let Cambodian people to be used for medicine testing of any country,” the premier underlined.
Samdech continued, before the products are imported to Cambodia, it is necessary to study clearly that the products are of good quality and guaranteed safety.
