Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 7 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced in front of foreign diplomats in Cambodia that he will not seek pardon for any convicted politicians who insulted his family.
The premier spoke when he presided over the celebration of the 112th Anniversary of International Women's Day on Tuesday (Mar 7) at the Peace Palace.
On that occasion, premier Hun Sen recalled the opposition's recent insults against his late sister-in-law and questioned the diplomats whether such action is acceptable if it falls on them.
"I will not submit request for amnesty for convicted politicians, for their actions are disgraceful," the premier said. “And if I do, I will be a brute.”
"I understand it enough. Please [foreign friend] respect the dignity of our Cambodian people as much as possible," Samdech told foreigners who defended the opposition for insulting his family.
