Phnom Penh (FN), Mar 6 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen recalled the bitter history during the war, particularly the Pol Pot regime, in which citizens lost family members and died of hunger.
The premier spoke at a graduation of nearly 2,000 students of Institute of New Khmer, held on Monday (Mar 6) at the OCIC, Phnom Penh.
"We have worked tirelessly to ensure our citizens have enough food. Currently, a part from food reserves, the kingdom has food surplus for export," the premier underscored.
Samdech added that Khmer ancestors mentioned three obstacles that the kingdom would face, namely war, starvation, and disease. Currently, Cambodia has overcome two obstacles, such as war and starvation, while we are fighting with the disease.
