Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that in the next four to five years, people will understand why he responded to an opposition activist Sorn Dara, speaking at the graduation of National Technical Training Institute students, held on Monday (Feb. 27) at OCIC, Phnom Penh.
"If you are a politician and do not even listen to your parents, do not dare to talk about anything else,” the premier underlined. “[…] People wonders why Hun Sen has been reacting to this kid [Sorn Dara] for several days. Please wait and see in the next four to five years. Sometimes politics is not done for immediate result. It is done for the next five years or 10 years."
Activist Sorn Dara left Cambodia to live in France along with other opposition leaders after the CNRP was dissolved. After living abroad, he launched a series of media campaigns attacking the Royal Government.
In a video interview on 21 February 2022, Sorn Dara’s father urged his son to stop attacking premier Hun Sen, yet Sorn Dara refused.
