Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 27 – To avoid confusion regarding the win-win policy, Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the implementation of the win-win policy ended in 1998, yet the first successful step of the policy was in February 1996 in Kampong Speu province.
The premier spoke at the graduation of more than 5,000 students of National Technical Training Institute, held on Monday (Feb. 27) at OCIC, Phnom Penh.
"I want to confirm today that the win-win policy was not launched in 1998, yet it ended in 1998 [in Anlong Veng district]. The first successful step of implementing win-win policy was in February 1996 in the Aoral district. I met with [Khmer Rouge] to negotiate and learn what they needed," the premier underscored.
