Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 14 – It is the VOD that spread false information to attack the Royal Government, secretary of state of the Ministry of Information Pen Bona wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday (Feb. 14).

The statement came after some journalists and civil society groups criticized the shutdown of VOD and urged the government to reinstate VOD.

"VOD spread false information that seriously harms the public figure (Hun Manet) and the entire government system. However, when the public figure reacted to and asked the media for correction and apology, they refused to do anything about it and leave its false information for several days," Bona wrote.

"In this sense, do not say that the government is attacking the media, but it is the VOD that is attacking the government by spreading false information, making mistakes and not correcting, and refusing to apologize," Bona added.
