Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen sent appreciation letter to director general of General Department of Taxation (GDT) Kong Vibol, the management and all officers for the tremendous efforts and the successful delivery of increased tax revenue collection at 122.54 percent of the target set by the Financial Law 2022.
"I would like to express my deep and sincere appreciation and congratulations to Your Excellency, the management and all officers of the General Department of Taxation (GDT) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the tremendous efforts and the successful delivery of increased tax revenue collection at 122.54 percent of the target set by the Financial Law 2022," according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Feb 1).
"I am incredibly pleased with this outstanding result which is proudly a remarkable way to mark the end of 2022 for our nation. This is an exceptionally historic accomplishment of tax revenue collection by GDT to exceed the target plan, reaching the highest surplus of all time accounting for 22.54 percent, which is equivalent to 2,574.07 billion Riels approximately USD 635.57 million," the letter added
"It is indeed a new milestone being achieved for Cambodia and its people during such difficult times, causing by the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, the global geo-political tension, the Russian-Ukraine war along with the imposition of tough foreign policies by a number of world leading countries and last, but not least, the domino effect of the uncontrollable rising of inflation rate".
