Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 29 – Cambodia People's Party (CPP), as a ruling party, adhered to the implementation of an independent foreign policy based on the law aimed at protecting the core interests of the nation, respecting the norms, objectives and principles of the UN Charter and of ASEAN.

The commitment was made at the Extraordinary General Assembly of the CPP, which was held at the 7 January Palace, Phnom Penh on 28-29 January 2023.

"The Congress adheres to the implementation of an independent foreign policy based on the law aimed at protecting the core interests of the nation, respecting the norms, objectives and principles of the UN Charter and of ASEAN, actively participate in regional and global efforts to maintain and strengthen peace, stability and prosperity, continue to fight the negative effects of climate change, transnational crime of all kinds, terrorism, infectious diseases, etc., and contribute to the strengthening of multilateralism," according to the resolution seen by Fresh News on Sunday (Jan 29).

"At the same time, in an environment where the regional and international situation is evolving in a complex, uncertain and dangerous trend, we call on the states involved in conflicts to exercise restraint. strengthen cooperation and work together for a peaceful solution to ensure lasting peace and prosperity for humanity".
