Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 29 – Cambodia People's Party (CPP) set five strategic goals and major policies to achieve further great achievements in all areas to continue to realize the vision of Cambodia 2030 as a high middle-income country.
The Extraordinary General Assembly of the CPP was held for two days, on 28-29 January 2023, at the CPP headquarters in Phnom Penh.
The Congress has set five strategic goals and major policies for the next five years based on the people's aspirations and the actual situation in the country and abroad to achieve further great achievements in all areas to continue to realize the vision of Cambodia 2030 as a high middle-income country.
The five strategic goals include:
Firstly, to protect peace, defend independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and safeguard long-lasting achievements of the society.
Secondly, to build the Kingdom of Cambodia into a liberal, multi-party democracy that is prosperous and strong, based on the rule of law, has a sustainable and equitable economic growth, and the people have a prosperous life, living in harmony, with dignity, and respect for human rights
Thirdly, to build a social protection system that is inclusive, efficient and financially sustainable, which ensures the provision of protection to the people in response to economic risks, public health risks and other vulnerabilities arising from changing working and living conditions.
Fourthly, to promote the implementation of "Cambodia is mine-free by 2025 and reduce the number of unexploded ordnances to a maximum".
Fifthly, to pursue the implementation of an independent foreign policy based on the law, building friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and all countries in the world and international organizations, and actively participate in the cause of peace, stability, security and prosperity in the region and the world.
