Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that for the sake of the nation and the people, the Royal Government supports and grants full freedom to all religions in the kingdom.
The premier spoke at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Christianity in Cambodia, held on Friday morning (Jan 27) in Phnom Penh.
"Many countries around the world have appreciated the religious harmony in Cambodia through the right policy of the Royal Government, which has good cooperation with institutions, organizations as well as relevant partners to make it more effective, convenient for citizens in practicing all religions," the premier underscored.
"I have mentioned many times that racial and religious differences are not an obstacle to the nation's development. Please do not force someone to change their belief, it is impossible," the premier continued.
Taking this occasion, Samdech thanked all Christians for jointly maintaining peace, fighting against COVID19 and participating in the kingdom's development.
