Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 26 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that Cambodia does not offer any military support to Ukraine, speaking at the graduation ceremony held on Thursday morning (Jan 26) in Phnom Penh.

"I would like to clarify in my capacity as the top decision-maker that Cambodia does not provide any military support to Ukraine. The provision of mine clearance technical training is purely the humanitarian affair. Cambodia will accept every country who wants to receive training on demining," the premier underscored.

On 20 January 2023, Ukrainian deminers completed demining training course conducted by Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) with the support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

On 24 January 2023, Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation categorically dismissed the classification of the Kingdom of Cambodia under the category of “Military supportive of Ukraine” as published in the infographic by Telegram Channel “Demografiya upala” (, indicating the positions of countries with regard to the war in Ukraine.

The ministry reiterated that “the decision to provide technical trainings in mine clearance to Ukrainian deminers in Cambodia, in collaboration with JICA, is purely made on humanitarian basis as similarly demonstrated in its many Peacekeeping Missions in Africa and the Middle East under the auspices of the United Nations.”
