Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 20 – On Thursday, 19 January 2023, marked a remarkable milestone in the history of Cambodia Capital Market and the honorable contributions from the relevant stakeholders to form the cornerstone of ESG initiatives in Cambodia for the first-ever Green Bond Issuance by Golden Tree.

Hean Sahib, minister attached to the prime minister, secretary of state of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and chairman of the Cambodia Securities Exchange, Sou Socheat, delegate of the Royal Government in charge as director general of Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia, Hong Sok Hour, delegate of Royal Government in charge as CEO of Cambodia Securities Exchange, practitioners from various local and international organizations, and specialists from ADB and IFC have collectively witnessed the listing of the first-ever Green Bond Issuance, and listing on the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX).

The total issuance size of the Golden Tree Green Bond is KHR 6,072,100,000 with coupon rate of 7% p.a. over the next five years. The net proceeds will be used to finance and/or refinance, in part or in full, new or existing green commercial buildings (including commercial residential) located in Phnom Penh.

This marvelous achievement is jointly brough forward by SBI Royal Securities Plc., as a lead manager and Underwriter, and Cambodia Securities Plc, as a co-underwriter, who underwrites the majority of the total bond value.
